At the turn of a key, it activates the hydraulic cylinders that elevate the platform to a predetermined height and the steel on steel mechanical locking system engages the platform. When locked the car lift cannot be lowered accidently due to mechanical or hydraulic failure of any type. This allows the user to park a second vehicle in the space below.
The mechanical parking system is designed to lift and safely store vehicles weighing up to 6600 pounds/3000kg. The car lifts are tested and certified to a rated static load capacity of 12000 pounds/5455kg. Only a person with a key can activate the car lift. The mechanical locks must be released manually before the lift can be lowered. Lifts are never operated by remote control or from a control switch.
